• The Open Distribution Alliance
  • The Open Distribution Alliance is a collection of tourism organisations who believe in the concept of open and shared inventory as opposed to fixed inventory of a tourism supplier's inventory.  This allows a supplier to provide allocation and rates to any sales channel of their choosing.  It allows any sales channel equal opportunity to access a supplier's inventory and prevents any sales channel trying to starve their competition of inventory via fixed inventory to that sales channel.

The ODA believes that only the supplier should own and control their inventory and rates and distribution - not their sales channels.

This philosophy will greatly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales and marketing of tourism product to both domestic and international markets.

The ODA will be an incorporated society consisting of an advisory board elected by its members.  This board must consist of representatives from each member type.

It is envisaged that the ODA will become a lobby group for those in the tourism industry who support open distribution and to help prevent those who seek to control the market for their own gains.
