• ODA Supplier
  • A Supplier is a direct supplier of tourism product including accommodation, rental vehicles, tours and activities.  The supplier owns or controls the inventory as opposed to an operator who may manage and operate the business.

    ODA Membership Requirements:

    3. Must accept shared inventory rather than fixed inventory from their suppliers.
  • ODA Wholesaler/Agent
  • An ODA Wholesaler/Agent is similar to a Marketing Group except that sales are not made under a common branded name and a Wholesaler/Agent normally has a much larger supplier base than a branded consolidator.  An ODA Wholesaler/Agent will sell direct to the public or via an agent or affiliate network. Examples range from large wholesalers eg Gullivers through to individual travel agents, information centres, web portals and associations who sell on behalf of their members.

    ODA Wholesaler/Agent Membership Requirements:

    1. They are able to sell for an ODA supplier or Consolidator.
    2. They do not need to directly interface to their supplier or consolidator using XML/OTA but may use tools provided by their ODA supplier, consolidator or distributor.
    3. Actively support the concept of open distribution and shared inventory.
  • Management Distribution System
  • An ODA Allocation Distributor distributes rates and allocation to sales channels on behalf of an ODA supplier or consolidator using XML/OTA.

    ODA Allocation Distributor Membership Requirements:
    1. They will provide dynamic rates and instant confirmation inventory either direct to a supplier’s or consolidator’s sales channels or via another ODA Allocation Distributor using XML/OTA protocols.
    2. They will not directly sell their supplier’s or consolidator’s products in order not to compete with their supplier’s or consolidator’s sales channels.
    3. They will not add margin to the supplier’s or consolidator’s rates.
    4. They can receive a supplier’s or consolidator’s inventory and rates via another ODA allocation distributor if required.
